Sweet Tea in Savannah

After a night of heavy rain we awoke to a humid morning. The air was thick. We took the dogs out for their morning stroll, ate a good southern breakfast of grits and eggs and headed out the door. The drive to Savannah was only about a fifteen minute affair, taking us over oyster laden marshes. We approached the massive bridge welcoming us to the darling city of the South. The plan was to park our car and take a tour with the Old Town Trolley Tours. They offer hop on and off privileges all day long for about $30.

After checking in, we got on the first trolley available and set off on an adventure. We decided to take the whole loop to get an overview of the city before deciding which stop to take. The loop takes approximately 90 minutes.

Here are some pictures from our visit to Savannah. It was so beautiful you feel like you stepped into a romantic comedy starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. In fact the little British pub pictured below was used for a Julia Robert’s movie. I am just glad I had my super awesome movie star husband with me. He makes any trip wonderful. Now it is time for us to pack up and head down to St. Augustine. I hope you can join us there.
